How's the Aviation Industry doing in 2017?

The aviation industry has been growing at a steady rate over the years, with greater demand from travelers; this despite the economic turbulence in many parts of the world. The outlook for aviation industry for the year 2017 remains positive.

Airlines are expected to have strong growth for the remaining months of 2017. According to the latest International Air Transport Association (IATA)’s report, the industry is expected to reach $736 billion in total revenues with a $29.8 billion net profit. This is the third straight year of profitability.

According to Center for Asia Pacific Aviation (CAPA)’s report, the Philippines has the fastest growing economy in SouthEast Asia, with the increase in airline passengers being a big factor. There are more tourists visiting the Philippines from all parts of the world, expanded routes, enhanced services, and fleets of new aircraft.

Philippines Airlines (PAL) recently purchased seven Bombardier Q400 aircraft, two new Boeing 777s and six Airbus A350s. These developments, along with the shortage of global pilots, spur a greater need for MRO services, active pilots and trained technicians.
