Now on its third year, the Research Innovation for Sustainable Education (RISE 2025: ICREATE-IMPACT) officially opened with a ceremonial ribbon-cutting at WCC Aeronautical & Technological College (WCC-ATC), setting the stage for a dynamic international gathering focused on research, innovation, and sustainability.
Held at the WCC ATC Cabin Hall, the opening program gathered esteemed international speakers, government officials, and leaders from higher education institutions nationwide. The event set the tone for a three-day conference dedicated to research, innovation, and strategic collaboration anchored on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Among the featured international speakers were Dr. Jude William Genilo, Pro Vice Chancellor, University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh; Mrs. Mahadia Abu Dalal, development practitioner from Palestine and Ms. Mini Gavino, international consultant and advocate from the Philippines.
Representing the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) were Dr. Christine Nabor Ferrer, Director IV, CHED Regional Office I; Dr. Danilo Bose, Chief Education Program Specialist; Dr. Angelica Dolores, Supervising Education Program Specialist; Engr. Leoneora Quarte, Education Supervisor II
Also in attendance were representatives from co-organizing institutions and regional academic partners, including Dr. Raymundo Rovillos, Pangasinan Polytechnic College; Dr. Evelyn Tomboc, University of Eastern Philippines; Engr. Arnold Santos, Provincial Science and Technology Office, Pangasinan; Dr. Thelma Palaoag, University of the Cordilleras; Dr. Cynthia Lopez, Lyceum Northwestern University; Dr. Ruby Rosa Cruz, Universidad de Dagupan; Dr. Rhowel M. Dellosa, Pangasinan State University; Dr. Genevieve Kupang, Baguio Central University; Prof. Angel Reyna Jr., University of Luzon; Dr. Ryan Jayson Delos Reyes, Urdaneta City University and Mr. Gomer Gomez, Bank Officer II, Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas.
Running from May 28 to 30, the event features plenary talks, interactive SDG boot camps, roundtable discussions, and student-led research exhibits spanning aviation, engineering, tourism, health, education, and the social sciences.
RISE 2025 reaffirms WCC ATC’s commitment to being a dynamic platform where knowledge meets purpose, and innovation meets impact—empowering future-ready professionals who are globally aware and socially responsible.
