WCC Aeronautical and Technological College (WCC ATC) Binalonan was abuzz with excitement as hundreds of new and continuing students gathered at the Civic Center for their General Orientation day. Organized by the Department of Student Affairs under the leadership of Ms. Lia Gutierrez and Unified Council of Aviators (UCA), the event featured engaging presentations, informative discussions, and a warm welcome from the WCC ATC Community.
The program started with the opening remarks of the Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Roger A. Martinez Jr. He recognized the fourteen (14) foreign students currently enrolled at WCC ATC. He welcomed them and all the other students, reminding everyone to uphold the school's mission, vision, and core values. He emphasized the importance of reading the student handbook in order to stay informed about school policies.
The orientation provided a comprehensive overview of student life essentials. The Registrar Head walked students through the enrollment process, while various student organizations introduced themselves, offering opportunities for involvement. The Guidance Office highlighted available support services, and the library showcased its latest resources. Lastly, the Prefect and Character Formation Office discussed important school rules and regulations to ensure a successful academic journey.
Another highlight during the orientation was when Ms. Andrea Liz D. Ebilane, Head of the Quality Assurance and Technology Office, presented the remarkable achievements of WCC ATC. The institution has earned global recognition, ranking 297th in the World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI). The school was also recognized in the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings 2024, placing in the 1501+ bracket, surpassing several prominent universities in the Philippines. Additionally, at the 2nd Annual ASEAN-China-India Youth Leadership Summit 2024, WCC ATC’s Bachelor of Science in Aircraft Maintenance Technology students have been chosen to represent the Philippines in Singapore this October.
