Greener community spaces and stronger climate awareness emerged in Barangay Dumayat, Binalolan, Pangasinan through “Buhay na Bigay ng Luntiang Puso,” a tree-planting initiative led by the WCC ATC Binalonan Community Extension and Services Office on October 27, 2025. Faculty members, staff, and ROTC cadets joined the activity, turning environmental responsibility into collective action.
The initiative encouraged participants to take an active role in protecting natural resources. By involving different sectors of the WCC ATC community, the activity also extended environmental stewardship beyond the campus.
The trees planted contributed to carbon absorption and strengthened local resilience to the effects of climate change, creating environmental impact with long-term value for the community.
This initiative furthered SDG 13: Climate Action through community-based climate action and supported SDG 15: Life on Land through the protection and restoration of terrestrial ecosystems. Buhay na Bigay ng Luntiang Puso demonstrated how sustained participation can contribute to a more resilient and sustainable environment.
